Unlike agrotourism or rural hotels, which are located on estates in the countryside, these rural accommodations in Mallorca are located in the urban centres of the island's inland villages. They are old mansions or farmhouses that have been refurbished for rural tourism.

Rural hotels in Mallorca

Caves to visit

Natural landscape

If you are looking for rural tourism in Mallorca, a visit to the Serra de Tramuntana Nature Reserve is a must. This mountain range, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is the highest in the Balearic Islands (1,400 metres above sea level). In this area there are numerous hiking routes with beautiful villages such as Pollença, Deià, Banyalbufar, Esporles, Escorca, Calvià, Estellencs, Andratx or Valldemossa.

Other natural areas to visit are: in Santanyí, the Mondragó Natural Park, which has a great diversity of landscapes. The Natural Park of s'Albufera, the Natural Park of Es Trenc-Salobrar or the Natural Monument of Ses Fonts Ufanes.
